Creating Active and Interactive Arabic Classroom Environment
A workshop for teachers of Arabic for Adults
Mahmoud Al-Batal, University of Texas, Austin
This two-day workshop( first time in London by Dr Al-Batal) will address a variety of issues related to Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL) and provide teachers with training on how to create an active and interactive Arabic language classroom environment. The workshop will feature presentations, video samples of actual teaching, and hands-on activities by workshop participants. While examples throughout the workshop will be drawn from al-Kitaab Arabic textbook series, the workshop will be beneficial to all teachers of Arabic regardless of the textbook series they use.
Mahmoud Al-Batal is Associate professor of Arabic in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas, Austin. He is one of the co-authors of the Al-Kitaab Arabic textbook series
ورشة تدريب لأساتذة اللغة العربية للكبار
محمود البطل ، أستاذ الدراسات العربية في جامعة أوستن، تكساسستركز هذه الورشة على عدة محاور متصلة بتدريس العربية كلغة أجنبية للكبارسعياً الى مساعدة المدرسين على خلق بيئة صفية تقوم على التواصل والتفاعل بين المتعلمين. وستشتمل نشاطات الورشة على عروض ونماذج مصورة على الفيديو عن تدريس المهارات المختلفة بالإضافة الى نشاطات تطبيقية قصيرة يقوم بها المشاركون في الورشة. والورشة مفتوحة أمام كل أساتذة العربية للكبار علماً بأن النماذج التطبيقية التي سنعرضها مستقاة من سلسلة "الكتاب في تعلّم العربية"
.وستتوزع نشاطات الورشة على يومين على الشكل التالي:
اليوم الأول:
9:00-10:30 مبادئ أساسية في التعليم والتعلّم.
10:45-1:00 تدريس المفردات
2:00 -1:00 استراحة
2:00- 3:30تدريس القواعد وكيفية تكوين تصوّر للدقة اللغوية ولكيفية تصحيح الطلاب في انتاجهم.
3:30-4:00 مناقشة مفتوحة
اليوم الثاني:
9:00-12:00 تدريس القراءة وتطوير استراتيجيات القراءة.
12:00-1:00 استراحة
1:00-2:30 تدريس الاستماع وتطوير استراتيجيات الاستماع.
2:30-2:45 استراحة شاى
2:45-3:45 كيفية إعداد الاختبارات التحصيلية.
3:45-4.14 مناقشة مفتوحة
